This will be an exciting month for graduating students at NSCC campuses across the province.  Plans are underway for convocation ceremonies, where senior students will receive their diplomas.  In all, 4,500 students will be graduating from more than a dozen NSCC campuses.  The first convocation ceremonies will be held in Springhill and Truro next Tuesday.
Local convocation ceremonies will take place on June 15th, at 10 a.m. for the Pictou Campus at the Pictou County Wellness centre and at 5 p.m. at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre for the Strait Area Campus.
NSCC will also confer four honourary diplomas.  They include community development and adult education advocate Dr. Teresa MacNeil, former provincial cabinet minister Marilyn More, former NSCC Board Member and school benefactor Carol Snider, and Hip Hop Legend, Author and Motivational Speaker Wes “Maestro” Williams.
MacNeil will receive her honourary diploma at the Strait Area Campus ceremonies, More and Snider at the Waterfront campus, and Williams at the Akerley Campus
