Antigonish Bishop Brian Dunn announces Pastoral Appointments

Several priests in the Diocese of Antigonish will be moving to new parishes this summer.
Bishop Brian Dunn has announced more than a dozen appointments to parishes, effective June 28th.  Father Callistus Albazie, currently Administrator of  parishes in Louisdale, Lower River Inhabitants, Glendale, West Bay and Whiteside moves to a similar posting in Guysborough, Larry’s River, Charlos Cove, Guysborough Intervale and Salmon River.  He takes over from Father Daniel MacLennan who has been granted a two year leave to pursue pastoral ministry in the Archdiocese of Dublin, Ireland.   Father Joe MacKenzie, Associate Pastor of St. Ninian Parish in Antigonish will replace Albazie in the Louisdale area, becoming Pastor in that parish.
Father Andrew Boyd, returning from a sabatical will become pastor in Lakevale, Ballantyne Cove, Georgeville and Maryvale.  Boyd replaces Father Evo DiPierro, who moves to a become Pastor in Louisbourg, Albert Bridge and Main-a-Dieu.
Exchanging parishes will be Father Andrew Gillies, current chaplain at St. FX University and Father Gary MacPherson, Pastor at St. Andrews, Heatherton, Giants Lake and Pomquet. Aside from his duties at St. FX, MacPherson will also be part-time Pastor at Bethany Motherhouse.
Father Daniel MacDonald, Pastor in Canso, Queensport, Port Felix and Dover, will become Pastor in Inverness and Broad Cove, replacing Father Duncan MacIsaac, who has been granted a sabatical for one year.   Father Jonathan Nnjiofor, an Administrator in the Louisbourg area, will become Administrator in MacDonald’s parish.
