A project is in the works for a Canada 150 Legacy Project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. Antigonish County Warden Russell Boucher mentioned that the Director of Recreation provided an update regarding the legacy project during this months committee of the whole meeting.
Boucher says the goal is to have a pavilion, possibly located in one of the local schools, to help commemorate the anniversary. County Council has set aside $45, 500 toward the project. Boucher says they are waiting to see what the next step is:
Boucher says the project totals $150,000, and they will be also be looking for funding from the Provincial and Federal government to assist in the project.
