Ignatieff also took aim at comments by Prime Minister Harper. Last Thursday, following a ride on an ATV at the Tuktoyaktuk Airport, Harper was asked if he had a license to drive the machine, especially on a runway. The Prime Minister replied, quote: “I think I make the rules”. Ignatieff says it’s not the Prime Minister who makes the rules, Canadians do.

There was not a Liberal candidate in Central Nova in the last federal election, part of an agreement by then-Liberal Leader Stephane Dion with Green Leader Elizabeth May. That deal upset many local Liberals. Speaker to reporters later, Ignatieff says there are some common themes he’s hearing from Canadians as he crosses the country on his summer bus tour.
Michael Ignatieff-Common Themes
Ignatieff says another issue on the minds of Canadians is government fiscal responsibility, including the one billion dollar cost of the G-8 and G-20 summits.
