Melanie Fiona
Melanie Fiona is the newest edition to the 8 pack. The Bridge is her first studio album released June 26, 2009. It produced two hit singles, first “Give it to me Right” making it to the top 20 and “It Kills Me” which hit #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts.
Critics call The Bridge “an intelligent homage to ‘60s Motown” and say “where it does go, it goes masterfully”, concerning its sound. Mark Edward Nero of About.com wrote favorably of the album’s production and commended Fiona for her vocal ability. “It Kills Me” was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. She is currently on tour with Alicia Keys.

There are a lot of switch ups in the latest version of the 8 pack @ 8 weeknights at 8pm on XFM. Owl City is one guy – Adam Young. His album “Ocean Eyes” was released in 2009 with singles “Fireflies” and “Vanilla Twilight” each charting. Link to the official site.

Natalie Horler from Cascada
Cascada is a trio, led by German-born singer Natalie Horler. They hope to make a big splash with the new CD “Perfect Day”. Horler, along with producers Manian & Yanou, sold more than three million copies of their debut record — most of that in Europe, where their techno-tinged tunes have really taken off.
All eyes on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards went straight to Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga has become fashion’s favorite lady and she didn’t disappoint with this shiny, silvery, number that was created with Giorgio Armani. She then opened the show in a green fairy-wing bodysuit — with matching green sparkle booties, of course.
“I am honored to be wearing Armani this evening. The series of pieces Mr. Armani created for me are truly iconic; they represent not only beautiful fashion, but my spirit and essence as an artist,” she said in a statement.

The E.N.D. begins the next chapter in the career of The Black Eyed Peas. Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyes Peas is the NEW #1 on the 8 pack at 8 beating out Kesha’s TikTok.
The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) the group’s fifth studio album and the third since Fergie joined. She took the group from the hip-hop underground to pop mainstream. This album is better produced and more accomplished than any of their previous records. Its sharp beats, smart lyrics and quick changes make listeners strain to hear more; drawing them back to play each track over and over.
Look out for some great Canadian acts. Faber Drive and Stereos are still relatively new to the scene but seem to be able to find enough of an audience to remain at the top end of the charts. And Hedley and Nickelback seem to have a formula worked out that almost guarantees chart success with each single they release.
