They are all extremely sociable and will do well in any home. The mother is a real lap cat.

CONDITIONS FOR ADOPTION FROM OUR BRANCH OF THE SPCA:

1. All cats and kittens that are adopted must be kept indoors unless they are on a harness and leash and supervised by their owner. This is done for the feline’s protection. Animals adopted from us have been rescued from one situation or another and should not be put at further risk.

2. If an adult animal is adopted that has not yet been spayed or neutered, spay or neuter must be done within 30 days of the adoption.

3. If a kitten or puppy is adopted they must be spayed or neutered by the age of six months.

An animal adopted from us cannot be given to another person or euthanized without our permission.

4. Adoption fees do apply. Please make sure that you fully consider and are willing to adhere to these conditions when considering adopting a companion animal from us.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Antigonish

Friday June 25th at Columbus Field, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Antigonish held their first ever M&M Meats Appreciation BBQ. It was a big success with hundreds coming out, and they have big reason to celebrate.

Bowl for Kids Sake 2010 raised over $40,000
In-School Mentoring continues to grow… now serving 70 children at St Andrews Jr. School and Antigonish Education Center
Bigs & Littles matches have more than doubled with 32 children currently enrolled.
We are thrilled to have our first “Couples Match” in Antigonish.

Share a Little Magic.

Mentoring is about the power of friendship. The volunteers and young people in our programs experience the magic of everyday moments when they are shared with a friend. Everyone needs someone to laugh with, share a dream with, and just hang out… with friends it’s the little things that mean the most.

On A Journey Of Kindness

25th keeper of the Sconestone Kerry Suek

Born and raised in Northern Canada -Labrador, lived in Oregon for a while, did Graduate work at U of T, and worked as a Physics instructor for the last 17 years with College of the North Atlantic. Currently, I am a Physics instructor with College of the North Atlantic’s project in Qatar in the Middle East.

My lovely wife, Shireen, and I have been married for 3 years and have a 22 month old daughter, Carla, and a 7 week or son, Riley. I have always been involved in the community and was very excited when Ada came to my door with the Sconestone!

FOLLOW THE SCONESTONE

Dave Gunning 18th Keeper

The Sconestone is a small stone carving inspired by ancient Scottish carvings that we will send on a journey of Kindness around the world, coming in contact with people from every climate, continent and culture. The Sconestone will act as a symbol encouraging those who have touched it to do an act of Kindness and ultimately help in their own small way to make the world a better place. Every person who touches or cares for the Sconestone must do their part and pledge to:

1. Do at least one Act of Kindness to a person, animal or anything that is good for the planet as a whole.

2. Keep the stone for no more than 7 days.

3. Encourage friends and strangers to touch the stone and pledge to do an act of kindness. Be creative!

4. Please pass the stone on to a person you trust will honour the purpose of the stone.

5. And lastly, come onto this website and tell us your Sconestone story and the act of Kindness you performed, no matter how small or grand.

Jayson Baxter, producer and host of Halifax’s Breakfast Television invited Dave Gunning onto his show to have an official ‘hand-off’ of the Sconestone. Of course Dave brought along his guitar and treated the audience to his beautiful music. Jayson is the 19th Keeper of the Sconestone and we invite you to follow along on his personal Journey of Kindness during his time as a Keeper.
