After a year of waiting, detours and delays, residents who utilize the Crowdis Bridge in Inverness County have their wishes heard. The structure was originally damaged when a car struck the bridge in May 2016. This has resulted in a lengthy detour for locals and tourists. The detour is 16kms and results in a 25 – 45 minute delay for people’s daily commute.
PC elect for Inverness, Allan MacMaster worked hard to speed the process along for the bridge. He says he is pleased to finally hear that the bridge is repaired:
MacMaster says he ironically was campaining in the Valley Mills area the day the bridge was re-opened. MacMaster tabeled a petition in November with 1,100 names pleading for bridge repairs.
