The Federal Budget came as welcome news to new parents wanting a longer maternity or paternity leave. The government announced that parents can now take an 18 month leave or a 12 month parental leave while utilizing Employment Insurance benefits.
Antigonish MLA Randy Delorey says this campaign promise by the Liberals is welcome news to families throughout the country. He says this gives families more flexibility to spend time with their newborns, and not feeling rushed to return to work:
