New/Old Scotland – a collection of Films from Nova Scotia and Scotland: Free Screening Wednesday, July 12 at 7 p.m. at the New Glasgow Public Library.
The Atlantic Filmmaker’s Cooperative, in partnership with the Edinburgh International Film Festival, is pleased to present New/Old Scotland—a touring program of short films travelling across Nova Scotia. Come out and join us for some amazing short films made in Nova Scotia, as well as curated selections of films from the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Afterwards join us for a Q&A session with EIFF Programmer Lydia Beilby and Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival Coordinator Bretten Hannam. A film conversation using 16mm film and a projector, with both the sound and image being created by painting and scratching directly on to 16mm film stock. ‘Scribbledub’ explores the dependent relationship between image and sound – the ‘scribble’ creates the ‘dub’, the ‘dub’ informs the ‘scribble’.
