Festival Antigonish has announced its line-up for its 30th season. Artistic Director Andrea Boyd says the Mainstage shows offers great stories and laughter which includes “The Hound of the Baskervilles” , a spoof of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s well-known Sherlock Holmes mystery. There’s also “Kingfisher Days”, by Susan Coyne, where a little girl discovers a letter from a fairy princess, which begins a friendship between the girl, the princess and an elderly neighbour. The third offering is “Stage Kiss” by Sarah Ruhl , where two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a play.
Boyd says each production is magical in very different ways.
On the family stage is Martha, a story about a woman who has an unexpected visitor, a goose. The 30th Festival Antigonish season opens on July 13th.
