During Wednesday evening’s Strait Regional School Board meeting, board members voted in favour of declaring the old SRSB headquarters to be surplus. This move comes after the board recently moved to a new location within Port Hawkesbury.
Superintendent Ford Rice says the move to declare the building surplus has many benefits. The move to the new location in SAERC helps cut down on extra expenses that existed in the old location on Cemetery Road:
It was discussed during the meeting that had the board remained at the old location, a great deal of maintanence and upgrades would need to be done.
