  • <p>Five-year-old Cohen Pictou of Antigonish was the 7th Player for Wednesday, February 8th vs Dalhousie. Very affable young man!</p>
  • <p>Cohen and dad Warren. X won 2-1 as they battle for an AUS playoff spot, so a good time all around!</p>
  • <p>Eight-year-old Kaber MacNeil of South Side Harbour was in for Friday, February 10th against SMU. Love his expression in this pic, lol.</p>

  • <p>Anthem...always an interesting picture to take when the 7th Player isn`t on this side of the ice. Being short has its disadvantages (your editor would know).</p>
  • <p>The Bulldogs beat the Cumberland County Blues 9-4 Sunday, February 12th. Kevin DeWolfe tried the XFM/Subway Score-O for a chance at $500, but missed both his shots. However, for trying he got a classic footlong From Subway - eat fresh!</p>
  • <p>By request from my pal Ryan Kearney, here`s Kyle Williamson watching the play in the other end. That was a common theme in this night`s romp. The Bulldogs will face Glace Bay in the first round of the playoffs....dates TBD. We`ll keep you posted, go `dogs go!</p>
  • <p>Hey it`s Kevin, Thursday February 16th I attended a Park Bench Players performance of "With A Little Help From My Friends" at StFX`s Immaculata Hall. It was a comedy/drama about mental illness done by people who are affected by it. It`s not often that something is funny and unnerving, but this was. Really well done and makes you think. If you get a chance to see it, please do.</p>
  • <p>989 XFM and Antigonish Computer Repair were proud to present "An Evening with Kim Wempe" Friday, February 17th at the Justamere Cafe! It was just Kim and her guitar in a very intimate and excellent performance.</p>
  • <p>Kim`s dad Murray was visiting from London, Ontario (Kim is originally from Saskatchewan, dad has also relocated) and joined her for a tune. He`s pretty cool himself. Your editor can`t remember the last time he ate dinner at a concert, but food and music is a great combo. Great night!</p>
  • <p>Eight-year-old Ben Kennedy of Lochaber kicked off the playoffs Saturday, February 18th against Universite de Moncton. Super fun young man, very excitable!</p>

  • <p>Ben was blown away at how big the players were once he saw them hit the ice. One he hit the ice he fit right in though, skating with authority.</p>
  • <p>Gotta give props to Spencer McAvoy, unprovoked he helped Ben with his helmet for the anthem. Very nice gesture, especially with his mind focused on avoiding elimination.</p>
  • <p>Here`s O Canada, a prelude to a 3-2 win for X to stave off elimination. Game three is tonight in Moncton, GO X GO!</p>
