Members of the HMCS Halifax will be running through the area this week, hoping to raise money for a worthy cause. The HMCS Halifax Run for the wish starts in Sydney and concludes in Yarmouth, with a stopped planned in Antigonish.
Taryn McGillis is one of the runners taking part in the run this year. The run benefits the Children’s wish foundation, which grants wishes for children suffering from life threatening illnesses. McGillis says they are trying to raise 30 thousand dollars to help one of their own:
Ten thousand dollars helps grant one wish, so the group is aiming to grant three wishes for children. The group will spend Thursday morning at St. Andrew Junior School to discuss their efforts with students and staff.
