Inverness County RCMP make 2 arrests

The Inverness County District RCMP have arrested two men during a traffic stop in Port Hastings on Thursday.

At 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, RCMP members conducted a traffic stop on Highway 105 in Port Hastings. As a result, police arrested Martin Julian, a 38-year-old male from Paq’tnek First Nation and Ivan Isadore, a 30-year-old male from Waycobah First Nation. A quantity of marijuana was seized.

Martin Julian was held for court as he was on probation at the time of the offence and was later released on an Undertaking. Both men are facing charges of Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. They will appear in Port Hawkesbury Court in September.

The Inverness County District RCMP have made an arrest in Port Hawkesbury during a traffic stop. At around 4:00 Friday afternoon, RCMP officers conducted a traffic stop on Granville Street in Port Hawkesbury. As a result, police seized a quantity of cocaine and arrested the driver, a 30-year-old male of Port Hawkesbury. A female passenger was released on the scene.
A search of the male’s residence resulted in seizure of marijuana and other evidence. The man is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was released from custody and will appear in Port Hawksbury Provincial Court in September.
