Beachgoers can cool off and enjoy the water under the watchful eye of lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily starting Saturday on supervised beaches in the province.

Since 1973, the lifeguard service has maintained a perfect record of no drownings on beaches during supervised hours. It aims to maintain this record.

Beaches in the area that include life guard services include Melmerby Beach in Pictou County, Bayfield and Pomquet beaches in Antigonish County, as well as Inverness and Port Hood Beaches in Inverness County.
