A Monastery man says he’s pleased that local lobbying to fix up Highway Four is beginning to pay dividends. A couple of years ago, a group of residents, including Gerard Pettipas, called on the province for shouldering and culvert work in area.
Area residents then asked for a repaving of Highway Four. Pettipas says the province has committed to re-paving a 6.5 kilometre section from the railroad tracks to Cape Jack Road. Pettipas says he’s pleased with the province’s commitment this year, with likely more work in 2018.
Pettipas says the work that will be done this year is probably the worst section of Highway Four.
