Author, psychologist, and Saint Mary’s University professor Todd Leader says the Mental Health and Addictions system must be fundamentally changed in order to serve the public more effectively.  Leader will touch on this issue during a public lecture at St. FX University’s Schwartz auditorium Wednesday night at 7.  Leader says the current system in Canada is flawed.
Leader says the system must be more client-centred, including supports to those who are healthy but are showing symptoms, as well as those who are experiencing illness.
Leader, the President-elect of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia is the author of the book “It’s Not About Us; The Secret to Transforming the Mental Health and Addictions System in Canada.”
