Richmond County native appointed Lieutenant Governor

Nova Scotia has a new Lieutenant Governor. Arthur LeBlanc of West Arichat and St.FX graduate from 1964 replaces New Glasgow native John James Grant for the position.
Roles included as Lieutenant Governor include handling the Queen’s roles and functions, granting royal assent to laws, and represent her in the province. LeBlanc¬† has been a judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia since 1998, and has practised law for 30 years in Nova Scotia before being named to the bench.
