A number of public hearings happened during Monday night’s Antigonish town council meeting, which drew a crowd of concerned residents. The town was working on rezoning two properties within the town; one on Church Street and the other on Victoria Street.
It was voted unanimously that the Church Street location be designated for rezoning, while the Victoria Street location stay as is. Mayor Laurie Boucher says council always tries to operate with transparency:
Questions were called during the meeting regarding the thought process of council for rezoning these properties. In the end, Boucher says she believes that most people left happy with the choice of council.
