“Frank was a humble man, never looking for accolades or awards; he cared about young people and dedicated his life to their athletic development and their growing to be good citizens”. These words by 989 XFM General Manager, Kenny Farrell described the late Frank McGibbon, a local icon and former recreation director for the town of Antigonish. During a presentation to town council last evening, an ask was put in to name the lane leading into club 60 after McGibbon.
The motion passed unanimously, and Mayor Laurie Boucher says it is a fitting honor to give to a well respected man:
Boucher says she hopes to have the street named before the next council meeting.
