The Chief of the Stellarton Police Service has received a provincial justice award for his work with the community.

At Monday’s meeting of council, Mark Hobeck was presented the John Dunlop Memorial Award by the Nova Scotia Criminal Justice Association, an award given annually to someone in the justice system who makes contributions not only to justice but also to the community at large. Hobeck was recognized for his extensive work with youth as a coach and sports organizer.
