4-H Leadership Conference at St. FX University to Focus on Science and Technology

About 70 High School Students from across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island will be on the St. FX University Campus next week for a 4-H Leadership Conference.  The focus of the conference this year is Science and Technology.  The keynote speaker is Dr. Matthew Lukeman, a chemistry professor at Acadia University.  His address on Friday, May 10th,  is entitled “The sky is falling, or is it?  Using Science to Separate Fact from Fiction”
On Saturday, the 11th, youth delegates will meet professors in science, math and technology.  There will also be ‘hands on’ sessions including field trips and a visit to the medical simulation lab in the Rankin School of Nursing.  Among the presenters will be Steve Matier of Maritime Launch Services, the company planning to build a space port near Canso on the growth of the aerospace industry in the province
