The Aberdeen Health Foundation is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a series of 40 stories highlighting healthcare in Pictou County.
Michelle Ferris, executive director for the foundation, said they wanted to pull out some of the stories from their archives because there have been so many people and moments over the years helping shape the foundation into what it is today. She called it a wonderful opportunity to look back, give thanks, and remember the things helping contribute to the foundation’s success today.

She said they will release a story approximately every 10 days or so on social media, adding they may do ads or bigger features for some to celebrate particular milestones. Other celebrations might come along during the year.
In 2025, the Foundation has so far invested over $2.4 million to fund medical equipment and enhance health programs at the Aberdeen Hospital and in the community.
