When asked why he decided to run for the PPC, Muir said he agrees with their policies. He says he has worked on the issue of firearms for almost two decades and says there is a lot of unfinished business on the Firearms Act. Others issues of concern, he said, include big government, high taxation, and other things that concern him as a business owner.
While he’s been a member of other parties in the past, Muir is a newcomer when it comes to running for office. However, he’s followed politics for some time and wrote about politics in column in a New Glasgow newspaper for some time.
Muir, who owns Andre’s Seats, said people are concerned about jobs in the area, particularly with the chance Northern Pulp will close.
