Members of the Antigonish Affordable Housing society were doing their happy dance Tuesday after winning a national competition. The society was a finalist in the

Riverside Estates

Aviva Community Fund, where it was announced that they were winners in the community development category.

Chair for the society, Colleen Cameron says that the $100,000 prize is important for the development of Phase 2 of their affordable housing complex, Riverside Estates. An emotional Cameron says that the money will be put toward good use:
Cameron adds that they are still waiting to get their building permit granted. The society is hoping to have a foundation poured before winter hits, with completion of the 1.5 million dollar project next September.
