The town’s Christmas parade is set for Saturday and preparations are underway. Santa and 
friends are set to make their way through the town starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher said some extra work went into the event for this year, noting there was debate about holding the parade in the afternoon versus the evening. The committee decided to keep it an evening affair and council approved an extra $5,000 in the budget to mitigate safety concerns.
