Antigonish County Council Approves Capital Plan

Antigonish County Council approved its $4.2 million capital plan during a regular monthly meeting last night.

Warden Owen McCarron said items in the plan include a tender being issued for the construction of a water tower and associated transmission and distribution lines in the Fringe Water Utility, awarding a tender for the repaving of Market Street to Nova Construction Co. Ltd., at a bid price of $179,553.25 + HST, a cost-share agreement for J-class roads, with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, awarding a tender for Mount Cameron curb and gutter to Allan MacNeil Construction Ltd. for a bid price of $192,588.75 + HST, as well as an addendum to revise the scope of asphalt paving at an additional cost of $55,341.50.

 

McCarron said the goal is to have most of the projects completed by late fall.
