Council for the Municipality of the County of Antigonish recently awarded a tender for a pre-design and environmental assessment for a new sewage treatment facility in the county.
Warden Nicholas MacInnis said the tender went to RV Anderson Associates, who offered a bid of $99,100 for the project, with two other companies offering bids.
MacInnis said they are hoping the work will wrap up by the end of next January. After that, they would look at the full design of the plant and then seek federal and provincial support to build the plant.
