With community centres across the county impacted by COVID-19, Antigonish county council

Antigonish County Warden Owen McCarron
dedicated $10,000 to nine such facilities in the area.
Antigonish County Warden Owen McCarron said the facilities faced a number of issues following the pandemic, being only being able to open to small groups or not at all. Missing out on things like receptions, bingo, and daces means less money for the facilities for things like heat and internet. The warden said council felt it was important to help out.
The community centres receiving the $10,000 includes Arisaig Parish, Havre Boucher, Heatherton, Mini-Trail, St. Andrews, and St Joseph’s Lakeside Community Centres, Lochaber Centre, Father PJ Baccardax Hall in Pomquet and Tracadie’s Monsignor Donnelly Hall.
