It is not the call that Antigonish County Volunteer Fire Department would get often.
Department officials, on its Facebook page say late Saturday morning, firefighters were dispatched to a cow stuck at the Antigonish landfill. It turns out the cow escaped a local farmer’s pasture and later got stuck in a sink hole.

With assistance from the RCMP, firefighters were able to extract the cow from the hole and locate the farmer.
