Antigonish Legion preparing for Remembrance Day

The local legion is getting ready for November 11.

James Matheson, president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 in Antigonish, said Monday’s Remembrance Day ceremonies will include a parade, wreath laying, and speeches from local dignitaries.  He said recognizing Remembrance Day is a way of saying thank you to those who served their country.

 

The Remembrance Day Parade will form up at Columbus Field before marching out at 10:30 a.m.. The parade will go down main Street and arrive at the cenotaph in Chisholm Park for 10:45 a.m., with the service to begin at 11. Matheson said the event is usually well attended
