Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher had nothing but good things to say about residents and town
staff for their efforts during a difficult 2020. Even with the pandemic, she said the town was able to stay safe and welcome back university students.
On the council side of things, staff were able to roll out a capital budget and a community accessibility plan along with being able to finish some infrastructure work. Boucher said they also welcomed Sean Cameron back to the council table following the municipal election in October.
As for 2021, Boucher said there are a lot of things coming down the road, including work on the solar garden, active transportation upgrades, and a review of the town’s physical activity plan. She said council and staff are excited to look to the future.
