For the second year in a row, Antigonish will be without its most famous event.
Earlier this month, Antigonish Highland Society President Bill Fraser announced the Antigonish 
Highland Games will not run this year. Fraser said the decision came after considering the current social gathering restrictions and expectations of what the rules might be in July.
Mayor Laurie Boucher credited the organizers for making the tough call early.
Boucher noted organizers were able to put together a virtual event last year and looks forward to see what they come up with this year.
