Antigonish RCMP will be monitoring traffic speeds through Construction zones

The RCMP will be paying particular attention to cars in construction zones through the month of July, as they try to raise awareness about speeding. Construction workers are at particular risk when working on roads and highways, especially during the summer months when road work is frequent.
Antigonish Town Councillor Jack MacPherson sits on the local RCMP board, and would like to remind residents to mind their speed in these sections, and says the RCMP will be paying close attention to speeding in construction zones. Speed fines double in consturction zones.
MacPherson also says that the RCMP will be paying close attention through the summer months to after-market mufflers. A town by-law makes it illegal to have these mufflers on cars.
