Antigonish Senior Bulldogs General Manager Matt Ryder says Team has Turned a Corner in Recent Games

Jan 6, 2026 | Sports

At the midpoint of his team’s inaugural season, Antigonish Senior Bulldogs general manager Matt Ryder said the squad is starting to lock-in.

The Bulldogs sit in third place in the Northumberland division of the Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League, with a record of 4 wins and six losses. With it being a new league, Ryder said there wasn’t much of a training camp or pre-season, adding they planned things out to use the first part of the regular season to stabilize. He said the Bulldogs turned a corner over the last handful of games, and they are starting to look like the team they were designed to be.

They next host a home game on Saturday January 10, when they take on the league leading East Hants Penguins at 7:30 at the Antigonish Arena.

Ryder said the Bulldogs are a fun team to watch and expects results will start coming their way.
