The Town of Antigonish, Municipality of the County of Antigonish, St. Francis Xavier University 
and the Antigonish Skatepark Association officially opened the Antigonish All Wheels Skate park to the public on Friday.
Jason Mason, head of the Antigonish Skatepark Association and long-time skateboarder, said arriving to the newly opened park for the first time on Friday was emotional.
Speaking on Sunday from the park, Mason said the park continued to be full all weekend. He pointed to Town Mayor Laurie Boucher, County Warden Owen McCarron, and StFX for helping to come together and make the park a reality.
Signage is still set to come to the park and some more landscaping is set for the spring, which will also see a grand opening ceremony for the facility. As for right now, Mason said the organizers are asking people to keep the park clean and free of graffiti or tagging. Mason said they don`t want people to associate the athleticism at the park with vandalism.
