Officials with a local charity that assists Antigonish Town and County residents on low income struggling to heat their homes in winter is pleased with the response to its annual fund-raising campaign.
The Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund traditionally launches their appeal during the lead-up to Christmas.
President Mike PD MacDonald says area residents responded to the call for help.
MacDonald says the appeal began just after Remembrance Day. This is the 18th year for the fund-raising drive.
