Antigonish Town Council hosted a special meeting Tuesday, January 13, to begin planning infrastructure priorities for 2026-27.

Speaking later in the week, Antigonish Town Mayor Sean Cameron said the two biggest infrastructure priorities in his opinion are getting another route to St. Martha’s Hospital and source water well drilling.
With that said, there are number of other infrastructure projects on the books that are important. One such item Cameron mentioned was an aging water pipes on the upper end Hawthorne Street that has to be addressed when looking at redoing the street.
