Antigonish Town Residents concerned over State of Railway Crossing

Jun 16, 2020 | Local News

The town’s railroad crossing is causing some issues and the town wants answers.

During Monday’s regular monthly meeting of Antigonish Town Council, a number of councillors spoke about hearing concerns from residents regarding the state of the railroad crossing on the east end of Main Street near St. Martha’s Hospital. Mayor Laurie Boucher said some councillors, the town’s CAO and a staff member reached out to the railroad company and asked if it will be fixed.

Boucher said the town can’t step in and fix it as it belongs to the railroad and they are responsible for upkeep and maintenance.
