RCMP have arrested 20-year-old Dwight Austin Isadore of Wagmatcook in connection with the death of Cassidy Benard from We’koq’ma’q First Nation, who was found dead in her home on October 24th, 2018. Bernard’s twin girls, only five months old were found in a crib next to her, suffering from dehydration. Isador was Benard’s ex-boyfriend.
RCMP say the investigation was extensive and led by its Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit. as well as specialized RCMP units and investigators from across the province.
Isadore was arrested without incident, and charged with Second Degree Murder and two counts of abandoning a child and appeared in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court today.
