The Baddeck Wharf is getting an upgrade. Develop Nova Scotia, the Atlantic Canada
Opportunities Agency, the County of Victoria and the Village of Baddeck and spending up to $1.2 million for the work. The repairs to the wharf will extend its working life by 25 years.
Devleop Nova Scotia will spend $596,000, ACOA will invest more than $484,000, the County will contribute $60,000 while the village of Baddeck is giving $20,000 to the upgrade. There’s also another $20,000 in community donations.
Victoria County Warden Bruce Morrison says the waterfront will become a focal point for both locals and visitors, and reinforce Baddeck’s reputation as the premiere boating location on the Bras d’or Lakes.
