CACL Antigonish making Non-Medical Reusable Masks and Cooking Hot Meals during COVID-19

May 28, 2020 | Local News

Like many local businesses, CACL Antigonish is learning to cope with changes resulting from the

East Coast Credit Union Social Enterprise Centre

COVID-19 pandemic.  Executive Director Jeff Teasdale says its participants haven’t been at the East Coast Credit Union Social Enterprise Centre since March, but staff are staying in touch electronically and by phone.

Teasdale says CACL is not standing still during this pandemic.  Staff, volunteers, board members and some participants are making non-medical reusable cloth masks.
Masks can be purchased by sending a message via the CACL’s Facebook Page
Teasdale says CACL is also producing hot meals for the food bank,  Celtic Community Homes, and group homes including its own.  It’s been using a cache of food that had been purchased for events scheduled at the social enterprise centre this spring.  As that food gets depleted, Teasdale says it’ll use a $1,000 donation from the Kinsmen to continue to supply the Food Bank.
Antigonish Kinsmen Treasurer Tim Bailey says it’s happy to support the project.

Bailey says it’s a worthwhile project, helping the CACL assist the Food Bank
