The Canadian Red Cross says thanks to those who contributed to its Hurricane Fiona in Canada

appeal it will provide $500 in financial assistance to households most impacted by the post-tropical storm.
Starting this week, the Red Cross will begin the distribution of funds to eligible households from the most impacted areas that have registered with the organization and are unable to meet their basic needs as a result of the storm.
Among the areas where aid is being offered are Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, Pictou, Richmond, Victoria, Colchester and Cumberland Counties and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Assistance is also being offered in Prince Edward Island and parts of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Those who have not yet registered can call 1-800-863-6582 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. or go online at www.redcross.ca/hurricanefiona.
If you have registered already with the Red Cross, you need not register again.
More than 56-thousand households have registered with the Canadian Red Cross in all provinces impacted by Fiona.
