The Canso Lions Club had a special visitor at its regular monthly meeting recently. Lions District

Lion Carl Bond, King Lion Janet Delorey, District Governor Jane Brad and Lion Ray White present Lions Carl Bond and Ray White with long term service chevrons.
Governor Jane Brad was at the session, where she praised the local club for the many projects it has carried out during the pandemic and its support of the community.
Brad says Lions Clubs are facing challenges during the pandemic, but continue to serve, noting work by the Canso Lions, delivering Meals on Wheels three times a week. It’s also selling Club 100 tickets for the Canso Academy Bursary. Brad also commended the club for its work locally and internationally. It sponsors a foster child in Africa, and donated $1,000 to Nova Scotia Lions for the new Ronald McDonald House in Halifax. The Lions also presented Brad

Long term service Chevrons were also presented to several long-term members of the local Lions, and charter member Barry Lumsden was presented with a District Governor’s pin.
