In a year-end interview, Battiste says government has moved decisively on a mandate to reduce costs.
Looking ahead to 2026, Battiste says one area he’ll be watching for is further roll-out of the federal government’s infrastructure investments; $51 billion over the next decade. Battiste says for that and other worthy projects to happen, the Budget Implentation Bill has to pass first.
He says Prime Minister Mark Carney has a vision to create the strongest economy in the G-7 and he is well on his way to doing that.
