Cape Breton Highlands National Park planning annual Christmas Bird Count

Cape Breton Highlands National Park is seeking some bird watchers.  The park is holding its annual Christmas Bird Count next week, on Wednesday, the 16th in the Ingonish area and the 17th in the Cheticamp area.   Parks Canada Resource Conservation Officer, Clayton D’Orsay, says its part of the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count.  This is the 121st bird count, the nation’s longest community science bird project.

D’Orsay say its asking those who participate to document the number of birds they see and the species.

D’Orsay says there are about 50 different birds that frequent the area in winter.
