Several local teams have made coaching changes.
The Cape Breton West Islanders of the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League have announced Troy Chiasson will be joining the team as an assistant coach.
The Cheticamp native has spending more than 25 years coaching, including stints with the U15 Novas, the U18 Sydney Rush and the South Shore Lumberjacks Junior A team as well as the Islanders during the 2015-2016 Season. Chiasson will be working with the Islanders defencemen and will be assisting with Team Video.
A new addition to the coaching staff with the U15 Novas is Aaron Hayne. Hayne played at the Bantam A, Midget AAA, Junior B and Junior A levels. He has coached at the Atom AAA, and Bantam AAA levels as well as university soccer.
