Province Reports one new Case of COVID-19, announces supports for Small Business

Provincial Health officials say there are now five confirmed and 10 presumptive cases of COVID-

One new case was identified Thursday, it is travel-related. COVID-19 cases are located across the province. The patients range in age from mid-20’s to mid-70’s.

The province has also announced supports for small business impacted by COVID-19. Business Minister Geoff MacLellan says government is providing $161 million to address cash flow and access to credit.

MacLellan says government is committing an additional $15 million as an incentive to internet providers to speed up projects and have them complete as soon as possible to assist employees who are now working at home.

Premier Stephen McNeil says as of March 30th the province will suspend payments of Nova Scotia student loans until September 30th. Also loans to the Fishery and Farm Loan Boards will be deferred until June 30th.
