Central Highlands Association of the Disabled has a new Inclusion Bus

Jan 20, 2021 | Local News

Central Highlands Association of the Disabled (CHAD) Transit has a new inclusion bus.

When Pictou County’s Public Transit bus service stopped running in 1996, CHAD Transit began providing transportation to the disabled and seniors. Currently, CHAD provides transportation to anybody who needs a drive with door to door, scheduled runs, and charter services available.

CHAD executive director Danny MacGillivray explained why organizers went with an inclusion theme.

He stated the Pride Flag, a symbol of inclusion, inspired the decaling on the vehicle.

CHAD Transit staff and board members, along with input from the Pictou County Rainbow Community, developed the design for the Inclusion Bus.  The board is also asking that people share CHAD Transit’s mission of “Community Transportation for All” with your family and friends.
