Inverness County Council visited Cheticamp last Thursday for its September meeting, the home of Deputy Warden Alfred Poirier, who had a warm greeting for his fellow municipal leaders – but also some unpleasant news.
The community’s waste water facility, he said, is causing a stink. He’s fielded several calls about the scent, and he’s also witnessed it firsthand. CAO Keith MacDonald said county staff would look into the matter this week (September 9-13).
Waste water treatment plants have been a hot topic in Inverness County recently, with facilities in both Whycocomagh and Inverness in need of total replacement.
